IFIP's major biennial event, the World Computer Congress, which was
discussed in the previous issue, has extended the deadline for
submissions of papers for the poster sessions from April 15 to April
30, 1992.
Whereas there will be many presentations, workshops and seminars of
interest to Internet Society members, the following topics may be of
particular interest.
"The Electronic Cottage: Delivering information and
communication technologies to the home."
"Reliability and Security in Personal Computers and
Local Area Networks."
"Identification and authentication of users and systems."
"Computer ethics and professional responsibility".
Professor A. N. (Nico) Haberman, of Carnegie Mellon University, now on
assignment to the National Science Foundation, is chairman of the
Software Development and Maintenance Stream. Amongst other well-known
participants will be the keynote speaker, Pamela McCorduck, author of
"Machines Who Think."
Since our last report, their majesties, the King of Spain, has
graciously accepted our invitation to open this prestigious
conference.

The working groups of the IFIP TC6 (communications) committee is
sponsoring the following events during the next few months.

Symposium on Protocol Specification, Testing and
Verification, 22-25 June, Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA
